Short version: Headline Odds does not collect, store, or sell any personal data. Headlines are matched locally inside your browser. The only external calls made are to the public Kalshi market API to fetch live odds data.

1. What Headline Odds Does

Headline Odds is a Chrome browser extension that reads news headlines on the pages you visit and displays real-time prediction market odds from Kalshi alongside those headlines. All matching logic runs entirely inside your browser.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Headline Odds does not:

Collect, record, or transmit the headlines or URLs you view
Track your browsing history or activity
Store any information about you on our servers
Use cookies, fingerprinting, or any other tracking mechanism
Share any data with third parties (other than the Kalshi API call described below)
Require an account or sign-in of any kind

3. Kalshi API Calls

The extension's background service worker fetches a list of open prediction markets from the public Kalshi API (api.elections.kalshi.com or api.kalshi.com). This is a standard outbound request to retrieve market data — no information about you, your device, or the pages you visit is included in these requests beyond what is normal for any HTTPS request (such as your IP address, which is handled according to Kalshi's Privacy Policy).

Market data is cached locally in the extension's service worker memory for up to 5 minutes to minimize network requests. This cache is cleared when the service worker restarts and is never written to disk or synced.

4. Waitlist (headlineoddds.com)

If you join the waitlist on our website, you provide your name and email address. This information is processed by Formspree and is used solely to notify you when early access opens. We will never send unsolicited emails or share your contact details with any third party.

You can request deletion of your waitlist entry at any time by emailing us.

5. Permissions Used

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

Host permissions for api.elections.kalshi.com and api.kalshi.com — required to fetch live market data from Kalshi's API.
Alarms — used to keep the background service worker alive so the extension can respond when you open a page. No data is stored or transmitted by this.
Content scripts on supported news sites — required to read headlines and inject the odds pill UI. No content is transmitted off your device.

6. Children's Privacy

Headline Odds is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
